Archival Process
We believe in autonomy.
We believe in the individual’s ability to make the choice that is best for them, which is why we ensure artists can use their own language to describe themselves on their Artist Profile page.
The praxis of Kgokelo lies in self-archiving, whereby playwrights can share their work and work profiles using the language that best suits them rather than working with imposed categories or limitations that often come from being written about by third parties who do not have adequate access to the inner workings of individual playwrights. Kgokelo aims to offer artists a place where their voice is not only heard but centred. Kgokelo is a chance for playwrights to capture themselves as they wish to be seen, and for others to understand them and their work.
